#7 Empty coffee jar & threads

Being so new to blogging I am making it my mission to get to know other stitch blogs out there & see what everyone is up to. There is certainly nothing more motivating than looking at other peoples work. It makes me want to stop typing & start stitching…

I am seeing so much lovely work out there & certainly finding many inspirational ideas to try out!

One of the things I have seen on blogs so far is about different ways to show the progress you are making & one i have come across seems so simple & easy to do… Click onΒ Here to see what it’s about…

I have quickly located an empty coffee jar & will be sharing updates each month to show you how my ORTS are coming along!

Feel free to join in & share your progress!

I’d like to add that I am definitely one of those people that likes to decorate my sofa & floor with threads… best place to find them is attached to one of the cats πŸ˜›

I won’t share a picture of my empty coffee jar as I am sure you can all imagine how it looks but I shall keep you posted on my progress… heres also hoping for less stray threads to be found around the house.. now if only I could keep my needles in one place!

#6 Throwback Thursday Cross stitch

Hi!

Here is my first ‘Throwback Thursday’ post of the blog. I thought it would be a good opportunity to show you a picture of something I have completed previously.

Each week I will post something that I have finished previously or even dust off something I am yet to finish to show you all.

Below is a keyring i completed for one of the New Year exchanges i took part in earlier this year. I am part of a cross stitch group called ‘Cross stitch friends in the UK’ which organises exchanges on a monthly basis. I have only taken part in a few of them but have always really enjoyed them. They pair you up with someone with a theme in mind you then stitch them something & send it to them by the end of the month. I haven’t taken part in any recently because I have had a lot on with work & the last thing I want to do is let anyone down. This is the last one I took part in.

I think if I remember rightly I took the little bird from a cross stitch crazy magazine & added the year 2015 to it. It only took me an hour & it felt so rewarding completing it! plus it also looks very cute if i do say so myself!

For those of you on Facebook Β I would certainly recommend having a look at this group I mentioned. It is such a lovely group to be a part of & it’s just another way that I share the work I’m doing & browse what everyone is up to as well! I know I have said this a few times but when I’ve lost my stitchy bug, looking at other peoples lovely work helps. Also…completing small projects like this help reawaken the stitchy bug πŸ™‚

Have any of you taken part in exchanges before? what was the theme & what did you do?

Happy #Tbt guys πŸ™‚

#5 WIP Wednesday 25/3

Hello!

Happy Wednesday crafty crafters! I hope you are all having a productive week 😊

Rather than posting ‘every day’ progress on my current projects, I’ll be posting once a week under ‘WIP Wednesday’ an update of what I’m working on… I’ve got this idea from magazines I follow on fb. (I wish i was witty enough to have made this theme up on my own). So, my thought process behind this is that in doing this it’s less likely to bore you guys & hopefully you’ll appreciate my progress more!!! of course if the mood strikes me I will certainly post some other updates especially if i’m moving between different projects πŸ™‚

Unfortunately I’ve been sick the last few days so haven’t been as productive as I would like. I found that i just could not focus on stitching when i wasn’t well & as you all probably appreciate I don’t want to get something wrong & then need to un-do all my hard work…There is nothing more demotivating! I did however sum up the courage yesterday to start my new wip I shared with you all in my last post.

It’ll be my first project that I’m completing in all one colour, so far it certainly makes a nice change. After a few hours on it yesterday I do think it’ll be something I work on little & often. I’m already tempted to put it down & start another small project on the side but for now I *WILL* resist the temptation & focus on this project for another week or so.

Below is a picture of my progress so far, I really love the ‘tye-dyed’ Aida!

On my last post you’ll be able to see what the final piece will look like. The chart is 4 pages which is always pretty daunting when you start off, but i do like a challenge… even if it does take me years to complete!

What are you currently working on??

P.s. I am currently working on updating my xstitchbee blog further with some details about myself as I realise it is fairly sparse at the moment… as they say Rome was not built in a day! i’ll keep you posted!

#2 My current WIP

For those of you that don’t know what WIP means, it means ‘Work in progress’ & below is my most recent one!

I’m currently stitching a Riverdrift house design called ‘Home sweet home’. It’s a free chart that came with one of my cross stitch crazy magazines!! Β As you can see I’m almost done!

I’m pretty much one of those stitchers that starts something & rarely finishes & when I do I usually give it to someone else! This one I’ll be keeping for me πŸ™‚ I hope you like it!!

For those of you that enjoy a hobby as crafty as mine, what are you working on at the moment?

#1 A crafty blog!Β

Hey there Blogtastic world! My names Kim & I’m just starting out my crafty blog… The main theme here will be all things cross stitch!

I’ve taken a little inspiration from my fiancΓ© as he has recently started a project log for his warhammer hobby stuff… He finds it motivates him into finishing certain project.

I’m like all crafty hobby people that has a million & one projects on the go & never quite finishes anything so I’m hoping if I share my progress with you all here it might keep me motivated & ensure I don’t lose that all important stitchy bug!

This page is definitely a work in progress & I’ll get some more stuff up shortly to tell you about myself & what I’m currently working on!

Feel free to comment & let me know what your crafty hobby is & how you are doing! I love looking at other people’s work πŸ™‚
