I hope you are all doing well!! As I mentioned last week I was at home in Southampton last week from the Tuesday night until the Sunday. I thought I would get some more stitching done but sadly not 😦 It’s also been absolutely manic at work this week so I’ve been coming in & crashing… that & tonight I’ve got an itchy throat!! Fingers crossed I can fight off any cold/flu that going around!
Enough of my negativity & on to the Cross Stitch 🙂 I have been stitching on two projects this week. The first is the ongoing Teddy Bear Sampler I’ve been stitching since the end of September. Just search ‘WIP’ under my categories to see my older posts on this one.
As you can see I have started on the border around the bear, its all slowly taking shape. I’m fortunate enough not to be in work this weekend & although I have plans on the Friday & Saturday night my days are free for stitching!!
The second project I’ve been working on is a Christmas Card I have started for a Christmas Card exchange I am taking part in on a Cross Stitch page on Facebook- ‘Cross Stitch friends in the UK’ Click here to join this friendly cross stitch community on Facebook… I’m off to a slow start but eventually it will be a gingerbread man pattern that I have taken from the most recent Cross Stitch Crazy issue 210.
Not much to see yet. I’m sure by next week you’ll be amazed at my progress ha! As you can see I have moved back to evenweave- I just love stitching on it! It’s such a nice change from aida.
I have also joined another exchange that I need to complete by the end of December which is a Christmas decoration exchange. I haven’t picked a pattern for that one yet. Anyone got any suggestions they can share for making a Christmas decoration?
You can see the only ones I’ve made before by clicking on a previous post here. They were lovely & simple to make, but i fancy doing something a bit different this year. However, I am mindful of the sewing attached to some of the designs out there & sewing certainly isn’t my forte!
I hope you have all had a productive week 🙂 As always you are welcome to share what you are working on in the comments!
Today has been a good Thursday! Today I spent the day in London exploring with my fiancé for our 5 year anniversary! We went to the London Dugeons, Camden Market & general exploring 🙂 A great day! 💜
The only thing I always miss when out shopping & exploring is a decent craft store! It really is sad that craft stores are so far & few between. I certainly didn’t see any on my travels today & I’m forced to go online for my crafty needs 😐
Do any of you have a decent craft store near you, or are you forced to shop online?
Anyway, For throwback this week I thought I’d share a small pattern I completed last year. Once I completed this one I made it into a card. Before the one I posted yesterday I think this was the last one I made. Here it is:
I really need to make cards more often! They’re small projects that give you the satisfaction of a finish & it doubles up as a gift as well!
I made this one for a friend last year & it was made as a birthday/Christmas card ☺️ The design was a free chart that came with World of cross stitching… I think. Please correct me if I’m wrong.
I think cross stitch cards are probably the most common gift I make for friends & family. Who doesn’t like receiving a good card?(I really am one of those people that keeps every card I’m given ☺️)
What cards have you made? Share your links below so we can take a look ☺️
I hope this post finds you all well!
I hope this week finds you all well & happy!
Last night I flew home to Southampton for the week so I’m back home staying with my parents again which is really nice 🙂
I’m currently sat on the sofa in my poncho (totally a portable blanket) watching ‘A Knights Tale’ & I’ve just unpacked my cross stitch to make some more progress. Cross Stitch Heaven ☺️
I made some great progress this weekend with my Teddy Sampler. Have a look:
It got to the point that I thought it would be a good idea to start the back stitch! Look how it pops! I think on Sunday when I started the back stitch was when I finally fell in love with this project ☺️
Monday night I also put together the card I made for my friends wedding. Here’s the final piece:
Anyway, I best get on with my stitching!
How are you all getting on this week? I do enjoy browsing the WIP posts 🙂
Whilst home I’ve brought with me the teddy sampler, a few Christmas card designs to stitch & my DMC threads to bobbinate… Yes, wishful thinking that I’ll get all that done! But there really is nothing worse than not bringing enough home 🙂
Happy Friday 🙂
I hope you have lots of stitchy plans this weekend!
I’m so excited that it’s Friday night! There’s nothing like two days off with the only plan being to drink wine, watch Netflix & Stitch 😀
I hope you all have a lovely weekend xx
I hope this week is treating you all well. I’ve had a tough few days at work & to top it off, I wrote out this week’s TBT post, published it & it’s disappeared! Its very odd. It just sums up my week. BRING ON THE WEEKEND!!
If you end up seeing a slightly different version of this post again, Sorrryyyy :’)
The Mr has invited a friend over to play some table top games this weekend so It means I have an excuse to make a den in the bedroom with my laptop playing Netflix & Stitching. Sounds like my kind of heaven ❤
This week I wanted to share with you some Xmas decorations I made a few years back. I’m feeling so cold & Christmassy at the moment so It fits well with my mood!
I really like the colours & that I can bring this out each year to decorate/personalise my tree! 🙂 It was a free kit from yet another cross stitch magazine!
Below is the second one that came with the kit…
I know it’s pretty traditional for Christmas card to be stitched each year, what do you do? I know stitching a decoration made a nice change for me. If you have stitched something different before, share it in the comments below! I’m hoping your comments & posts will help me make it to the weekend 😛
what do you all stitch for xmas? or do you give it a miss entirely?
Anyway, only one day until the weekend! 😀
(Its not about Netflix & Chill but Netflix & Stitch! :P)
Well it’s that time of week again where we show off what we are currently working on!
Just a quick post this week as I shared the majority of my work on Sunday. Which you can see below on post #25
The picture above really shows my main progress (if any) this week on this project.
I hope you like it 🙂
This week I’m on lates which explains my limited progress. I am however off work this weekend AND I’m off most of next week so I’m hoping to get some more stitching done! I’m heading back home to Southampton next week for a friends wedding so fingers crossed its not too hectic!
As always feel free to share in the comments any links to your WIP.
Happy Wednesday 🙂
Sunday’s were made for Stitching & relaxing! Every Sunday the boy & I spend the day watching films whilst doing our crafty hobbies! You all know what mine is! His is to put together & paint Warhammer models. So Sunday’s are usually a very crafty day for us both.
I mentioned in my previous post that I found a few patterns I’d be using for cards I’m making for friends over the next few weeks. I’ve completed the actual patterns quicker than I thought! All that’s left to do is attach them to cards 🙂
First up is a cute little pattern I’m putting together on a card for some friends that have just moved. They invited us to their housewarming but we can’t make it. So I thought it would be nice to stitch them a little card! Here it is:
I decided to put this one on Evenweave. I’m fairly new to Evenweave but I’m starting to prefer it over aida! In hindsight I would have put the happy new home pattern on Evenweave as the wording was quite difficult to stitch on aida. It was also my first attempt at fraying the edges… I’m happy with how it’s turned out!
I’m on a late shift this week which means I’m not likely to get much stitching done but I’m sure I’ll find time to attach these to cards 🙂
I hope you’ve all had a good weekend & not feeling too blue that it’s Monday tomorrow!

I was just browsing some of my old posts & came across this one! I thought it would be a good time to dust off the cobwebs & show you all some Xmas cards I made not last Xmas but the one before. Click on the link above to see them 🙂
I don’t know about you guys but half of the fun with Christmas cards is stitching but the other half is getting out all your crafty bargains & putting the actual card together.
Im still so proud of these cards & my family seemed grateful to receive them! Although I only managed to make 4!!
How many Christmas cards are you all planning to make this year? What plans do you have to make sure you finish on time?
Happy stitching 🙂
