TBT: My Top 3 Romance books

Starting my reintroduction off nice & slow with a throwback to this post from Feb 2019. I’m a sucker for a good romance & when in the ‘month of love’ it seemed appropriate to share with you all some of my old faves… so here it is:

My top 3 romance books…

It’s that time of year where love is in the air & money is being spent on flowers, cards, chocolates & other gifts to show our loved ones how much we care about them.

Nothing quite says ‘love’ to me, than a good book that makes my toes tingle.

With it being Valentines week I felt inspired to look back on the last three romance books I bestowed 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

After scrolling through my Goodreads Read shelf I’ve found these are the last three romance books that have met my expectations & hit 5*

In no particular order…

The Turning Point – Freya North

Published: 4th June 2015

480 pages.

Click on the titles to read the description of each of these books.

I’ve read a few books by Freya North over the years & I’ve never been disappointed! I find her books down to earth & thoughtful. I remember reading this book & feeling stunned into silence. Upset beyond belief that I had to stop reading & go out for a run to clear my head. Definitely a book I’ll never forget & would certainly recommend.

The year I met you – Cecelia Ahern

Published: 9th October 2014

432 pages

Wow! Another fantastic author & beautiful read. If you’re a fan of chick lit or chick flicks you’ve probably come across Cecelia Ahern whether you’ve realised it or not.

Her most well known book being ‘P.S I love you’ Which has Gerard Butler grace us with his presence in the film adaption & slowly break our hearts.

CA is also author to the adorable ‘Love, Rosie’ Which is one of my fave films to watch hungover. (Pretty certain it’s still on Netflix)

Anyway, One of my favourite quotes from this book:

I feel now like I’m living in a goldfish bowl and all I can see and hear from every window in my home is you. You, you, you.

I find Ahern’s books so magical & this one although more matter of fact was no different. Would certainly recommend if you want an easy read that’ll make you laugh out loud.

My not so perfect life – Sophie Kinsella

Published: 7th February 2017

448 pages

A cute read that I listened to on audiobook. Easy to follow & relate to. Who doesn’t try to make their lives look a little bit more exciting on Instagram these days?!

This book was the first time I’ve delved into a Sophie Kinsella novel, and would pick one up again in the future if I’m looking for a simple, heartwarming read. She definitely goes on the list of recommended/safe authors I’ve gathered over the years.

So that’s it! Those are my top 3 romance novels I’ve discovered over the last year that have been awarded 5* honour on my book shelf!

Have you read any of them? Any others you’d recommend for the romantics out there?

Happy Valentine’s Day all
