#40 Happy Christmas Adam!

Hello all!

Happy Christmas Adam! 😊

I’ve got half a day of work & then I’m off until Tuesday! Yay! I hope you are all ready for Christmas & finished work for the holidays.

I’ve been so busy the last few weeks, hence my absence yet again… Sorry about that. Bonus is, I have things to share 😊

First up, I’ve finished my ‘Santa is coming to town’ by Lizzie Kate. Well, finished stitching. I still have the embellishments to add which I’m sure at some point I’ll get round too! For now I’m happy with it & totally done with Xmas stitching for the year. How are you all getting on?

I’ve not decided how to finish it yet? Any suggestions?

Next up I’ve moved back to my baby sampler for my friend due in January. Design by Lesley Teare.

Really happy with how it’s going! I’m planning to stitch the outside of the box & then alternate between the back stitch & border depending on my mood 😊

What stitching do you have planned over the Christmas holiday?

I hope you are all having a lovely week.

Merry Christmas xxx

#31 Progress?

Hey All,

I hope you are all doing well!!Β As I mentioned last week I was at home in Southampton last week from the Tuesday night until the Sunday. I thought I would get some more stitching done but sadly not 😦 It’s also been absolutely manic at work this week so I’ve been coming in & crashing… that & tonight I’ve got an itchy throat!! Fingers crossed I can fight off any cold/flu that going around!

Enough of my negativity & on to the Cross Stitch πŸ™‚ I have been stitching on two projects this week. The first is the ongoing Teddy Bear Sampler I’ve been stitching since the end of September. Just search ‘WIP’ under my categories to see my older posts on this one.

As you can see I have started on the border around the bear, its all slowly taking shape. I’m fortunate enough not to be in work this weekend & although I have plans on the Friday & Saturday night my days are free for stitching!!

The second project I’ve been working on is a Christmas Card I have started for a Christmas Card exchange I am taking part in on a Cross Stitch page on Facebook- ‘Cross Stitch friends in the UK’ Click here to join this friendly cross stitch community on Facebook… I’m off to a slow start but eventually it will be a gingerbread man pattern that I have taken from the most recent Cross Stitch Crazy issue 210.

Not much to see yet. I’m sure by next week you’ll be amazed at my progress ha! As you can see I have moved back to evenweave- I just love stitching on it! It’s such a nice change from aida.

I have also joined another exchange that I need to complete by the end of December which is a Christmas decoration exchange. I haven’t picked a pattern for that one yet. Anyone got any suggestions they can share for making a Christmas decoration?

You can see the only ones I’ve made before by clicking on a previous post here.Β They were lovely & simple to make, but i fancy doing something a bit different this year. However, I am mindful of the sewing attached to some of the designs out there & sewing certainly isn’t my forte!

I hope you have all had a productive week πŸ™‚ As always you are welcome to share what you are working on in the comments!

#30 We went on an adventure!Β

Today has been a good Thursday! Today I spent the day in London exploring with my fiancΓ© for our 5 year anniversary! We went to the London Dugeons, Camden Market & general exploring πŸ™‚ A great day! πŸ’œ

The only thing I always miss when out shopping & exploring is a decent craft store! It really is sad that craft stores are so  far & few between. I certainly didn’t see any on my travels today & I’m forced to go online for my crafty needs 😐

Do any of you have a decent craft store near you, or are you forced to shop online?

Anyway, For throwback this week I thought I’d share a small pattern I completed last year. Once I completed this one I made it into a card. Before the one I posted yesterday I think this was the last one I made. Here it is:

Isn’t she cute?

I really need to make cards more often! They’re small projects that give you the satisfaction of a finish & it doubles up as a gift as well!

I made this one for a friend last year & it was made as a birthday/Christmas card ☺️ The design was a free chart that came with World of cross stitching… I think. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

I think cross stitch cards are probably the most common gift I make for friends & family. Who doesn’t like receiving a good card?(I really am one of those people that keeps every card I’m given ☺️)

What cards have you made? Share your links below so we can take a look ☺️

I hope this post finds you all well!

#26 Teddy bear sampler

Well it’s that time of week again where we show off what we are currently working on!

Just a quick post this week as I shared the majority of my work on Sunday. Which you can see below on post #25

My main WIP this week is the Teddy Sampler by Lesley Teare.  I do love this little cutie! I’m now all stocked up on threads again so I can continue my work. Here’s what I’ve done so far:

The picture above really shows my main progress (if any) this week on this project.

I hope you like it πŸ™‚

This week I’m on lates which explains my limited progress. I am however off work this weekend AND I’m off most of next week so I’m hoping to get some more stitching done! I’m heading back home to Southampton next week for a friends wedding so fingers crossed its not too hectic!

As always feel free to share in the comments any links to your WIP.

Happy Wednesday πŸ™‚

#24 Homemade Christmas cards

Source: Homemade Christmas cards

I was just browsing some of my old posts & came across this one! I thought it would be a good time to dust off the cobwebs & show you all some Xmas cards I made not last Xmas but the one before. Click on the link above to see them πŸ™‚

I don’t know about you guys but half of the fun with Christmas cards is stitching but the other half is getting out all your crafty bargains & putting the actual card together.

Im still so proud of these cards & my family seemed grateful to receive them! Although I only managed to make 4!!

How many Christmas cards are you all planning to make this year? What plans do you have to make sure you finish on time?

Happy stitching πŸ™‚
